The Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Media and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, has urged Nigerians to explore multiple sources of income to navigate the country’s rising economic challenges. Speaking during an interview on Channels TV, Onanuga addressed concerns over the increasing cost of living, suggesting that Nigerians adopt practical solutions to sustain themselves financially.
According to Onanuga, individuals struggling with their earnings should find additional ways to augment their income, similar to the concept of “moonlighting” in the United States, where people take on extra jobs to meet their financial needs.
“If you are working as an office assistant or earning minimum wage, try to find something else to supplement your income. You cannot live on just one income,” he said.
He further suggested that those with access to farmland should take up farming to grow their own food, thereby reducing expenses.
“If you have farmland near you, cultivate it, grow your crops—it will help cut down costs. People just have to find their own solutions to survive in the present economy.”
