Odumodublvck Weighs In on Artist-Label Conflicts, Urges Fairness and Accountability

Rapper Odumodublvck has shared his perspective on the ongoing tensions between artists and record labels, asserting that the common narrative of artists being victims is not always entirely accurate. In an insightful conversation with Hip TV, the rapper explained that many of the conflicts in the music industry arise from personal disagreements between artists and label executives, rather than inherent issues within the system itself.

He emphasized that business relationships, including those between artists and labels, are often influenced by human dynamics, which can lead to misunderstandings and disputes. Odumodublvck cautioned against portraying record labels as the sole antagonists, pointing out that some artists can become difficult to manage after achieving success, often making excessive demands.

He also urged fellow artists to recognize and appreciate the investments and efforts that record labels put into their careers. While acknowledging that labels also have their faults, he stressed the importance of a fair and balanced approach to resolving conflicts within the industry.

“Everybody must be accountable. It’s not a record labels are bad situation…There are things artists don’t come out to say during this conflict,” he added.

His comments come at a time when tensions are rising in the industry, particularly following the controversy involving Dapper Music and its former artists, Shallipopi and Muyeeez. The two artists recently ended their contracts with the label, alleging financial mismanagement and unfair business practices. The label has since denied the accusations.
