The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command of the Nigeria Police arrested 1,077 suspects in 2024, following the investigation of 1,426 reported cases, according to SP Josephine Adeh, the command’s spokesperson.
Providing a breakdown, Adeh revealed the following:
- Kidnapping: 104 cases, 216 suspects arrested
- Armed Robbery: 268 cases, 132 suspects arrested
- “One-Chance” Robbery: 263 cases, 71 suspects arrested
- Cybercrime: 32 cases, 15 suspects arrested
- Homicide: 68 cases, 78 suspects arrested
- Burglary: 73 cases, 20 suspects arrested
- Fraud: 385 cases, 422 suspects arrested
The arrests reflect the FCT Police Command’s continued efforts to tackle criminal activities and improve security within the capital territory.
