Suspected armed bandits ambushed a joint team of the Katsina State Community Watch Corps and vigilante members, killing 21 of them in Baure Village. The attack occurred on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at about 4:30 p.m., as the team was returning from a condolence visit. The Katsina State Police Command confirmed the incident on Friday, stating that operatives from the Safana Divisional Headquarters swiftly intervened to restore calm to the area.
In a statement, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, assured the public that efforts were ongoing to apprehend those behind the brutal attack. “The Command is committed to ensuring that those responsible for this dastardly act are brought to justice,” the statement emphasized.
