In a bold statement that’s stirring up legal debate, Speed Darlington’s attorney Stan Alieke has declared that the Nigeria Police Force lacks the authority to arrest, detain, or prosecute individuals found with cannabis (Indian hemp) or other hard drugs.
Alieke took to social media to share his legal perspective, asserting that such powers exclusively belong to the National Drug Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
According to him, only the NDLEA has the proper jurisdiction to handle drug-related arrests and prosecutions in Nigeria.
