Former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello has been granted bail by Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday, December 13, as he faces serious money laundering allegations.
The court set bail at N500 million, requiring Bello to provide two sureties who must also provide bonds of equal amount.
Critically, these sureties must be property owners in Abuja and must swear to an affidavit detailing their financial means.
During the court session, Bello was formally presented with 19 criminal charges related to alleged money laundering.
He entered a plea of not guilty to all counts, setting the stage for what promises to be a closely watched legal battle.
