WAEC to Begin Computer-Based WASSCE for Private Candidates on October 25

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced that it will launch the Computer-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination (CBWASSCE) for private candidates starting from October 25, 2024. The examination will run until December 20, 2024.

The examination will follow a hybrid approach, where objective or multiple-choice questions will be displayed on-screen, requiring candidates to submit their answers on-screen as well. Essay and practical questions will also be presented digitally, but responses will need to be written in the answer booklets provided. However, candidates will have the option to use the traditional Paper and Pen mode for the entire examination if they prefer.

In addition, WAEC has extended the registration deadline for the exam until Tuesday, October 29, 2024. The ‘Walk-in-Candidate’ option, which allows candidates to register 24 hours before their chosen exam, will be available after the close of the registration period.
