Responding to the incident and its concerns, comedian Deeone blasted Nigerians, calling them “unsmart” for how they dealt with it. In his strong opinion, the challenge that was trending would bear no tangible result, but was merely social media hype.
Deeone appealed to Nigerians to take action at the grassroots level and not just stage protests on the internet. He advised them to engage with the representatives at the local level, i.e., counselors and chairmen of the local government, to bring about concrete change and not just make noise on social media.
This comes after Deeone trended following his revelation that he had posted alleged evidence against activist Verydarkman. He revealed that he had traveled to Abuja, prepared to submit the documents to the appropriate authorities. The reality TV star also claimed to have more damning videos regarding the activist and dropped a hint on what he planned to do with them.
