Nigerian R&B sensation Tems has made a groundbreaking achievement, earning three nominations for the 67th Annual Grammy Awards.
She is now the most nominated Nigerian artist this year, with nods in several prestigious categories: Best African Music Performance, Best Global Album, and Best R&B Song.
Tems has also made history as the first Nigerian female artist to have a Grammy-nominated album.
Her debut project, Born In The Wild, has been recognized in the Best Global Album category. Additionally, she has become the first African artist ever to be nominated in the R&B category for her hit single Burning.
With these nominations, Tems becomes the first African female lead artist to be recognized outside of the global music categories, further cementing her place as a trailblazer in the industry.
Tems now holds the record for the most Grammy nominations for a Nigerian female artist, with a total of six nominations to date.
With three nominations in this year’s Grammys, she is the second Nigerian artist with the most nominations for the 67th Grammys, following Burna Boy, who received four nominations at the previous year’s ceremony.
