Tems has earned another prestigious accolade as her song “Found,” featuring American artist Brent Faiyaz, has officially sold one million copies in the United States, securing an RIAA platinum certification. The track is part of her acclaimed second EP, “If Orange Was A Place”, released in 2021.
This song’s popularity surged as Tems gained international recognition following her breakout feature on Wizkid’s global hit “Essence.” “Found” has now amassed over 119 million streams on Spotify, becoming one of her most-streamed tracks to date.
With this latest certification, Tems now holds three platinum awards for “Wait For U” with Future, “Free Mind,” and “Found.” Additionally, she has received RIAA gold certifications for her single “Higher,” which charted on the Billboard Hot 100, and for her debut EP, “For Broken Ears”.
This accomplishment solidifies Tems’ status as the first Nigerian female artist with an RIAA gold-certified album, placing her alongside Rema and Wizkid as one of the few Nigerian artists with RIAA-certified projects. Both Wizkid’s “Made in Lagos” and Rema’s “Rave & Roses” are also gold-certified, marking a significant milestone for Nigerian music on the international stage.
