Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Legal Team Requests Accusers’ Identities in Federal Sex Trafficking Case

Sean “Diddy” Combs’ legal team has filed a motion in Manhattan federal court, seeking the identities of the individuals accusing the music mogul in his ongoing sex trafficking case. According to a letter addressed to the presiding judge, Combs’ attorneys argue that knowing the names of the alleged victims is essential for adequately preparing for his upcoming trial, scheduled for May 5, 2025.

Combs’ lawyers, Marc Agnifilo and Teny Geragos, highlighted the extraordinary nature of the case, which has attracted significant attention due to the star’s celebrity status and wealth. The letter refers to a broader pattern of accusations that have surfaced following a previous lawsuit and grand jury leaks, which, according to the legal team, were compounded by false and inflammatory statements from Department of Homeland Security (DHS) agents.

The legal team contends that the combination of Combs’ fame and the publicity surrounding the case has led to a “ripple effect,” causing a surge of claims from unnamed individuals, ranging from “false to outright absurd.”

This motion follows the lawsuit filed by Combs’ former girlfriend, singer Cassie Ventura, in November 2023, accusing him of physical abuse, rape, and sex trafficking. Although that lawsuit was settled the day after it was filed, it opened the floodgates for further legal actions, with both women and men coming forward with similar allegations against Combs.

Combs’ lawyers also pointed to six additional sexual assault lawsuits, filed just this week by anonymous accusers. They criticized a recent press conference held by the accusers’ counsel, who claimed to represent 120 individuals with accusations of violent sexual assault and abuse, including minors.

The letter described the press event as a “publicity stunt,” noting that it was broadcast on Instagram and included a hotline number that reportedly received 12,000 calls within 24 hours.

Combs’ legal team argued that these growing accusations, coupled with intense media coverage, have irreparably damaged their client’s reputation and are jeopardizing his ability to receive a fair trial. The motion seeks to contain what they describe as a “media circus” surrounding the case, which they fear will further prejudice public opinion and the judicial process.

Sean “Diddy” Combs was arrested by Homeland Security in September 2023 in Manhattan and is facing federal criminal charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering. He is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York.
