Police in Ondo State are investigating the death of Isah Ibrahim, a commercial motorcyclist whose body was found in a well at Ore Stadium in Odigbo Local Government Area.
Ibrahim was reported missing on August 17. His body was discovered several days later by colleagues who had been searching for him throughout Ore.
Police spokesperson DSP Olayinka Ayanlade said Commissioner of Police Adebowale Razaq has ordered a comprehensive investigation to determine what happened and bring those responsible to justice.
The victim’s motorcycle, a Bajaj, was missing when his body was found, leading to suspicions of robbery.
Fellow motorcyclists believe his death may be connected to increasing cases of motorcycle theft in the area.
“We are appealing to police and other security agencies to step up their efforts, arrest these criminals, and put an end to the rising insecurity in Ore. Our lives are no longer safe,” said one motorcyclist who asked not to be named.
