Olubadan Declares Sarkin Sasa Title Illegal, Affirms Baale Akinade Ajani as Sole Authority in Sasa Land

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, has nullified the title of Sarkin Sasa in Akinyele Local Government Area, declaring it void and unrecognized under the Ibadan Traditional Chieftaincy Law.

The declaration was made during the Olubadan-In-Council meeting held at the monarch’s palace in Oke Aremo, Ibadan. In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Gbenga Ayoade, the monarch affirmed Chief Akinade Ajani Amusa as the only recognised Baale of Sasa and the accredited representative of the Olubadan in the area.

“Let it be noted that any individual or group of persons in Sasa land are under the authority of the Baale of Sasa land, Akinade Ajani. It is therefore imperative to accord him the appropriate respect and authority,” the statement read.

The Olubadan warned that any act of defiance or disrespect toward Baale Akinade Ajani would be considered a direct affront to the Olubadan stool and would attract serious sanctions.
