Joseph Aloba, the father of late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, aka Mohbad, has called on the Nigeria Police to summon the singer’s wife, Omowunmi, and his brother, Adura, for questioning over the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death. Aloba made this appeal following a press conference organized by actor Yomi Fabiyi in pursuit of justice for Mohbad.
During the event, a video allegedly sent by Adura was played, raising fresh concerns about the singer’s tragic passing. Fabiyi, while addressing the media, alleged that Adura might have crucial information about his brother’s death. His claims led to a heated exchange between Mohbad’s mother, Abosede, and the actor, as she strongly opposed the allegations against Adura.
In response, Joseph Aloba released a statement expressing frustration over his failed attempts to speak with Adura since Mohbad’s death. He alleged that his access to Adura had been deliberately blocked, preventing him from understanding what truly happened. Aloba urged law enforcement to step in, insisting that both Adura and Omowunmi must be questioned to uncover the truth.
“I am calling on the Nigeria Police to summon my son, Adura Aloba, and Mohbad’s wife, Omowunmi Cynthia Adebanjo, to provide insights into the death of my son, Ilerioluwa,” his statement read.
He expressed concern over Adura’s silence, emphasizing that he was in the house when Mohbad passed away but had refused to speak.
“After Mohbad’s death, my family and I made several attempts to communicate with Adura to explain what happened on that fateful day.
However, Mohbad’s mother obstructed all efforts to reach him. Despite repeated attempts, every avenue was blocked,” he alleged.
Aloba reiterated his demand for a fair investigation, urging the police to provide security for Adura and Omowunmi while ensuring their cooperation in uncovering the truth.
“I believe their testimony could be instrumental in shedding light on the events leading to Mohbad’s death. The public deserves to know the truth, and justice must be served,” he stated.
