The loyalists of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State have issued a warning to Hon. Aminu Sani Jaji, member of the House of Representatives representing Kaura/Birnin Magaji federal constituency, accusing him of betraying the party and engaging in anti-party activities.
In a Sunday release, APC supporters’ club chairman Muhammad Kabir Birnin Magaji berated Jaji for “anti-party activities” which had caused him to be suspended. He dared Jaji to distance himself from the APC, claiming his actions were deliberate attempts at discrediting the leadership of the party.
We have consistently advised him to stop trying to identify with the party, as his utterances and actions are not APC values,” Kabir noted. “His continued attempts at aligning with us are mischievous and unacceptable.”.
The supporters also dismissed Jaji’s criticisms of the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, as baseless. They argued that Jaji owed much of his political rise to the influence of Matawalle and former Zamfara governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari.
One major point of contention, Kabir noted, was Jaji’s reaction to the distribution of seven trucks of rice donated by President Bola Tinubu during Ramadan, which was overseen by Matawalle.
The minister opened the distribution, and actual APC members witnessed the process,” Kabir explained. “Why is Jaji so upset by this? He is not the only lawmaker in the party from Zamfara there are Senators and other reps above him.”.
Kabir also stated that Matawalle had sponsored the distribution of over 50 trucks of rice personally and paid one billion naira to APC stakeholders. He also donated 100 cows to party loyalists during Sallah celebrations.
“If Jaji is not working for the PDP, why is he so concerned about this?” Kabir questioned.
The APC faithful blamed Jaji for colluding with Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal to destabilize the APC in the state. They claimed that he had a meeting with PDP members during Ramadan but did not provide any assistance to his people.
The group argued that Jaji’s actions exposed him as a “two-faced and unprincipled politician” more interested in personal gain than party loyalty. They also accused him of antagonizing Zamfara APC Chairman Tukur Danfulani and attempting to discredit Matawalle and Yari, two of the state’s most influential political figures.
