Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has sparked an online uproar after expressing his anger over his older brother Linc Edochie’s public criticism of his controversial marriage to Judy Austin.
The heated exchange began when Linc appeared on the popular KOK Live show, hosted by actor Kanayo O. Kanayo.
During the interview, Kanayo asked Linc about Yul’s marital choices, prompting Linc to openly criticize his younger brother and advise him against airing his relationship issues on social media.
Yul, clearly hurt and angered by the comments, took to Instagram to vent his frustrations. In a series of posts, he condemned his brother’s public remarks, calling it a betrayal.
He voiced his belief that no family member should ever criticize another in the public eye, labeling such behavior as “foolish and damaging.” “Never castigate your family in public,” Yul wrote.
“Never, that’s the sign of a weak person. Since you don’t know, let me educate you. The stupid person that sat you down to discuss your family, tell him to discuss his own family first.”
Yul’s outburst didn’t stop there. He also indirectly criticized Kanayo for facilitating the interview that, in his view, invaded family privacy.
To further underscore his point, he referenced the public bond between Nigerian singer Davido and his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, as an example of how family matters should be kept private and handled internally.
“You no dey see Davido and his uncle? Once you see them in public, they are hugging, dancing, and happy.
Any matter wey dey, na inside house dem dey treat am,” Yul added, contrasting his own situation with that of the Adeleke family.
Yul’s post has stirred a wave of reactions online, with fans expressing their opinions on both sides of the issue.
While some supported Yul’s call for family unity and privacy, others felt that Linc’s criticism was justified.
