Global football legend Cristiano Ronaldo has broken his silence on why he is still unmarried to his nine-year girlfriend, Georgina Rodríguez.
The Portuguese football legend and Argentine-Spanish social media influencer have been dating since 2016, and they have two daughters named Alana Martina and Bella Esmeralda. Rodríguez is also the stepmother of Ronaldo’s other three children: Cristiano Jr., and twins Eva and Mateo.
Despite their long relationship and growing brood, the power couple has not made their relationship official by getting married, something that has driven their fans wild with speculations. In Netflix docu-series “I Am Georgina,” Season 1, Episode 1, Ronaldo and Georgina share their future marriage plans.
Georgina Rodríguez, businesswoman and supermodel declared: “They [My darlings] always tease me about the wedding. When is the wedding? Since Jennifer Lopez’s hit song “The Ring or When” came out, they sing it to me. And well, this is not my choice.”
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner apparently said, “I always say to her [Gio] that when we have that click, like all in our life and she will get it. It can be in one year, or can be in six months or in one month. I’m 1000% certain that it’s going to happen.”
In the meantime, Ronaldo’s occasional reference to Rodríguez as his “wife” has fueled marriage rumors.
During an acceptance speech at the Dubai Globe Soccer Awards, 40-year-old Ronaldo referred to 31-year-old Rodríguez as his wife, fueling media speculation of a secret wedding.
