Controversial social critic and figure, VeryDarkMan, has responded to an arrest warrant issued by an Abuja Chief Magistrate Court for defamation against renowned gospel singer Mercy Chinwo.
The court directive follows VeryDarkMan’s visit to China for a youth empowerment initiative. In his latest Instagram post, he reacted to the case, stating that the legal action against him is part of a grand conspiracy within the judiciary.
VeryDarkMan accused the prosecutor targeting him of having six cases in the same magistrate court on the day the warrant was signed, suggesting a concerted attempt to muffle him.
He also revealed that he has an injunction placed against him from another court, this one relating to Mercy Chinwo and her previous record label boss, Eezee Tee.
He also questioned why the case was suddenly transferred from Lagos to Ilorin, suggesting it was a gesture to appease his accusers.
Both the prosecutor and the judge in office, he believes, have personal acquaintances with Mercy Chinwo and her husband, Blessed.
Despite the court’s decision, VeryDarkMan maintains. He said that even when he is detained upon his arrival in Nigeria, it would not diminish the validity of his claims.
“I’m resisting oppression. Even if I get to Nigeria and I am arrested, it doesn’t mean that I am lying,” he said.
