Nigerian actor Uche Maduagwu has criticized popular fashion designer Veekee James for her recent comments directed at single women. Veekee had shared a photo of herself with her husband, accompanied by a caption advising single ladies to rethink their preferences when choosing a partner.
In her post, Veekee wrote: “This could be you and somebody’s son, but you like your men tall and handsome with a perfect set of teeth, 100% financial responsibility, impeccable dress sense, very spiritual, yet with a touch of bad boyness.”
Responding to this, Uche Maduagwu dismissed Veekee’s advice as unnecessary and out of touch with the realities of many women. According to the actor, no one needs her opinion on marriage, as what works for one person might not work for another.
“Stop making it look like marriage is a designer dress that fits all,” Uche stated.
“The kind of man you like might be someone Nigerians would laugh at on social media, but that doesn’t mean every woman shares your taste.”
Uche further pointed out that many Nigerian women prefer financially responsible men who can cater to their needs, rather than focusing on superficial traits. He emphasized that Veekee’s marriage should not be used as a standard to advise single ladies.
