According to lindaikejisblog, a presidential dinner was hosted on Monday night at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja, where the Super Falcons were honoured for their historic 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) victory. The atmosphere was lifted by electrifying performances from Nigerian music stars such as Flavour, Teni, Timi Dakolo, and Fido, whose presence added glamour to the evening dedicated to the triumphant team.
Earlier in the day, the players had been officially received at the Presidential Banquet Hall by President Bola Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, where formal recognition was given for their remarkable achievement. National Honours were conferred on all players, and each member of the team was awarded a sum of $100,000 as a personal reward for their efforts throughout the tournament.
In addition to the cash gift, it was announced that three-bedroom apartments located at the Renewed Hope Estate would be provided for every player, while members of the technical crew were each awarded $50,000.
The Super Falcons’ 10th WAFCON title had been secured on Saturday, July 26, after a dramatic 3–2 comeback win over host nation Morocco at the Stade Olympique in Rabat, a match that had been marked by intensity and resilience.
