Iyabo Ojo, Daughter Priscilla Pay Ooni of Ife A Visit Ahead of Traditional Wedding

Actress Iyabo Ojo and her daughter, Priscilla, recently made a royal visit to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, as part of the lead-up to Priscilla’s traditional wedding to Tanzanian singer Juma Jux. It was at a heart-wrenching moment on the Instagram page of Iyabo Ojo that Priscilla had knelt before the honorable monarch to offer her wedding invitation—a tradition richly rooted within Yoruba culture and showing respect. It was warmly welcomed by the royal family during their visit. Tradition is to open up the union to royal blessing by inviting the Ooni for most Nigerian societies, and in this case especially, among Yorubas. Priscilla’s people and she herself are observing tradition by bringing into their union the royal blessings through approaching the Ooni. “By the grace of God, if the great Ooni of Ile Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, Royal Father of the day, blesses your marriage with his royal blessing, then your marriage is blessed! Long live our King.” The post also tagged friends and well-wishers such as @princesstoyinkolade and @chiomagoodhair, keeping the festive atmosphere. “I Helped Ooni of Ife to the Throne, Now He Wants to Dethrone Me” – Oluwo of Iwo

The Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, accused the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, of scheming to depose him as the Oluwo of Iwo. Through a forceful statement made in Osogbo, Osun State, on Friday, Oba Akanbi accused Ooni of attempting to dethrone him, alleging that having played a major role in helping Oba Ogunwusi get to the throne, Ooni has since been scheming against him. Terming the said plot an impossible dream, the Oluwo stated, “No one can dethrone me as Oluwo. No one can kill me and no one can bring me down.” He said he was responsible for the rise of Oba Ogunwusi as the Ooni of Ife in 2015 but was surprised that the same individual he facilitated was now purportedly attempting to bring him down. The king also recalled a recent Council of Obas meeting in which he claimed the Ooni questioned him about his opposition to worshipping as deity. Sources quoted Oluwao of Iwoland saying “God used me to play a vital role in the installation of Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi as the Ooni of Ife but, to my surprise, the same person I helped to the throne has been planning evil against me. “He orchestrated my suspension from the Osun State Council of Obas meeting against the AIG who was a star witness at what transpired. He is using a few kings in Iwoland to destabilize my territory.” “He attacked me last month in the presence of the state Governor that I’m discouraging deity worshipping. He was part of those who used my former wife against me. “He should keep trying to remove me. He will be the one to live to regret, his cohorts that have tried it in the past failed,” Oba Abdulrosheed added. Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife and a revered traditional monarch, is reportedly making plans to marry Titilayo Ashabi, who would become his seventh wife. The Ooni’s personal life has been marked by several notable relationships over the years. His first child, Adeola Aanuolouwapo Ogunwusi, was born in May 1994 to Omolara Olatubosun while they were teenagers in Ibadan. Although the two never married, they successfully co-parented Adeola. However, in a 2021 interview, Omolara revealed that the Ooni was largely absent during Adeola’s early years. In 2008, the monarch married Adebukola Bombata, but their marriage ended in 2016. Shortly after, he wed Zaynab Otiti Obanor from Benin in March 2016. This union was also short-lived, with Zaynab filing for divorce, which was finalized in August 2017. The Ooni’s next marriage was to Prophetess Morenike Naomi Oluwaseyi in October 2018. In December 2021, Naomi announced their separation on Instagram, though this claim was later disputed by the palace. Despite their split, Naomi has maintained a prominent public profile. In a remarkable series of events between September and October 2022, the Ooni married six women. His first marriage in this period was to Mariam Anako, from Kogi State, on September 6, 2022. The next day, he wed Elizabeth Opeoluwa Akinmuda, an Ondo State native. On October 9, 2022, he married Tobi Phillips from Okitipupa, Ondo State. By October 14, 2022, the Ooni married Ashley Afolashade Adegoke, a princess from Ile-Ife. On October 20, 2022, he wed Ronke Ademiluyi, also a princess from Ile-Ife. Nigeria Shines at John Mahama’s Swearing-In Ceremony in Ghana

Nigeria had a significant presence during the inauguration of President-elect John Dramani Mahama in Accra, Ghana, on January 7, with notable figures capturing attention at the event. Among those present was the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, whose arrival and activities became a focal point on social media. The revered traditional ruler was spotted at a Nigerian airstrip arriving in a Rolls Royce before boarding a private jet to Ghana. Upon landing at Kotoka Airport, he was received in grand style, with a luxury vehicle waiting to chauffeur him to the ceremony. A standout moment from the event was a photograph showing the Ooni seated next to the Ga Mantse, the King of the Ga people. This was particularly symbolic, as the Ga people of Accra trace their roots back to Ile-Ife, reinforcing historical ties between the two cultures. Also in attendance was Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, who turned heads when she arrived with her husband, businessman Ned Nwoko. Their presence did not go unnoticed, as a viral video showed former Nigerian presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan standing to greet the couple. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu also joined other world leaders to support and celebrate with Ghana during this historic occasion. Notable figures such as Governor Ademola Adeleke and media mogul Dele Momodu were also seen alongside the Ooni at the event. The ceremony generated buzz online, but not without some controversy. Social media users expressed mixed feelings about the Ooni’s public appearances, with some questioning his priorities regarding personal matters back home. Social Media Reactions @bee0204: “Something is off about him. Why is he not bothered or disturbed that his ex-wife is in prison?
