Stanley Nwabali, the goalkeeper for Chippa United and the Super Eagles, has shared the devastating news of his mother’s passing. In an emotional post on X (formerly Twitter), the 28-year-old described 2025 as “the worst year of my life already,” expressing his grief with a somber message: “A very very crazy world indeed. RIP mom.” This loss marks the second tragedy Nwabali has faced in just a few months. His father passed away on November 15, 2024, and now, with the death of his mother, he is grappling with the overwhelming weight of back-to-back bereavements. As a result of this heartbreaking news, Nwabali was excused from Nigeria’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Rwanda, giving him space to mourn his immense loss.
