Stanley Nwabali, the goalkeeper for Chippa United and the Super Eagles, has shared the devastating news of his mother’s passing. In an emotional post on X (formerly Twitter), the 28-year-old described 2025 as “the worst year of my life already,” expressing his grief with a somber message: “A very very crazy world indeed. RIP mom.” This loss marks the second tragedy Nwabali has faced in just a few months. His father passed away on November 15, 2024, and now, with the death of his mother, he is grappling with the overwhelming weight of back-to-back bereavements. As a result of this heartbreaking news, Nwabali was excused from Nigeria’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Rwanda, giving him space to mourn his immense loss. Since revealing the tragic news, fans, fellow players, and well-wishers have flooded social media with messages of support. Many have offered heartfelt condolences and strength during this difficult time. One fan, @Ashabul_Jannaah, wrote, “I’m so sorry for your loss. May her soul rest in peace and may you find strength and comfort during this difficult time. Sending love and prayers your way.” Another supporter, @therealdaddymo1, said, “Praying for you and the family. May her soul rest in peace and may God comfort you all.” @AjeboMezie shared their sadness, writing, “Wow this is so sad. First day of the year. My condolences.” Related Posts Tinubu Unveils Ambitious Economic Plan to Halve Inflation by 2025 President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has outlined an ambitious economic agenda aimed at reducing Nigeria’s inflation rate from the current 34.6% Read more 2024 Elections: A Mixed Bag of Milestones, Setbacks, and Electoral Integrity Challenges The year 2024 marked a significant milestone for Nigeria as it celebrated 25 years of uninterrupted democratic rule.
