Nollywood actress Opeyemi Aiyeola has taken to social media to scold her co-actress, Eniola Badmus, for what she described as a body-shaming comment left on her Instagram post. It started when Opeyemi uploaded a video where she was engaging with fans. In the clip, there were visible hair losses on the front of her hair. Eniola Badmus was among those who commented and asked, “Ope where is your front hair???”—something which did not go down well with Aiyeola. Reactionarily, the actress went live on social media to vent her disappointment and anger. She had accused Eniola of body-shaming her, despite having once been victimized in similar fashion. “This livestream is for Eniola Badmus,” Opeyemi began. “I’ve decided not to pay attention to foolish and wicked people, but I need to react to her.” She insisted that Eniola, current Special Assistant to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, would do better. “Eniola, it was not meant to be you,” she said. “You had previously been body-shamed and demeaned on social media. You have the familiarity with the agony so why comment on my post and leave it like that?” Opeyemi also pointed out that Eniola had never engaged with her content at all—disliking, commenting on, or re-sharing any of her posts—thus making the comment even more offensive. “You’ve never amplified something that’s important to me. But the first thing you choose to comment on is something that’s negative?” Very clearly hurt, Opeyemi did not mince any words when she condemned what she feels is hypocrisy and insensitivity. “You see yourself in the mirror and think that’s beauty? You think beauty is just about appearance? You’ve only displayed your ignorance.”   Related Posts Uriel was evicted, not Adekunle or Doyin. Nigerian online observer Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as Verydarkman (VDM), has been questioning Nollywood actress Eniola Badmus and fellow celebrities for backing politicians due to self-interest in contrast to people backing politicians without conviction. VDM recently cautioned Nigerians to be more discerning of celebrities endorsing politicians, warning that the majority do so for money or more publicity. His statement came after Eniola Badmus re-endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu amidst a widespread public outcry and the 30-day online protest demanding change. Badmus has come under attack for her rigid stance, particularly after she was appointed a special adviser to the Speaker of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Tajudeen Abass. The majority of her critics have faulted her for placing personal interests above the welfare of the masses. VDM’s remarks have evoked controversies about the participation of celebrities in politics and whether or not Nigerians should look up to public figures for political leadership. He said: “Eniola Badmus, other celebrities, and the dumb Nigerians enabling them—until you know who you are, you will continue to be sheep to the wrong shepherd.” Social media comments: @luvantena12: “This is the truth. We should remember what we’ve gone through and choose wisely while voting so Nigeria can move forward.” @prese_touch: “Our votes don’t matter, which is why they are so sure of their decisions. If votes mattered, Eniola would not be so sure of her stance.” @princessadeyemiakindele: “Nigerians are in bondage—celebrity bondage, religious bondage, influencer bondage. They simply go along, hoping someone will tell them.”   Related Posts Uriel was evicted, not Adekunle or Doyin.
