One of the Lagos traditional rulers alleged that Nigerian Correctional Service officials helped crossdresser, Idris Okuneye popularly known as Bobrisky, to achieve VIP treatment for the period that he was in prison. The Baale of Kirikiri Town, Chief Babalola Shabi, or “Baale No-Nonsense,” asserted that Bobrisky introduced eight Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards to the Kirikiri custodial center and used them to make a total transaction of N35 million using Point of Sale (POS) operators in the area, allegedly to bribe prison officials for special treatment. Shabi made the revelation during a town hall meeting convened by the Lagos State Police Command on Saturday, April 5, as part of activities to mark the National Police Week. Bobrisky never served his sentence in prison but was lodged in a private apartment outside the custodial center, arranged by corrupt custodial officers, he said. He stated, “Before the truth was revealed, it was assumed by all that he was in Kirikiri serving his prison term. But the real scenario is Bobrisky was living comfortably outside the prison walls in a criminal agreement that involved some officials.” Shabi said it was through his intervention that the scandal was exposed, and that he had invited all the POS operators in the community to his palace, whereupon the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission stepped in. “I personally contacted the EFCC after I invited the POS operators to my palace. From there, they were able to track the transactions and unravel the money trail,” he stated. The traditional king explained the agreement involved correction officers traveling to POS operators to withdraw cash from the crossdresser’s ATM cards. He added that how accessible the funds had been indicated the presence of a well-organized ring of co-conspirators. “It was incredible how N35 million could be accessed from here within such a brief period. Clearly, it was not the work of an individual. The officials who assisted him have been suspended,” said Shabi. He also asserted that the house where Bobrisky was allegedly held in detention at the time had been found and destroyed, and that he had been questioned by both the Department of State Services and EFCC regarding the issue. “The DSS first invited me for questioning, and I told them everything I could. The EFCC also invited me, and I gave them my full cooperation. As a leader in my community, I cannot just fold my arms while this sort of impunity continues,” he said. His report defies an earlier report given by a National Assembly committee, which deduced that Bobrisky was treated exceptionally but remained within the confines of the prison compound throughout his stay. Nigerian crossdresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has sparked controversy with a new video in which he claims to have been romantically involved with seven celebrities. He vowed to reveal their identities while criticizing the Nigerian entertainment industry for its alleged hypocrisy. Expressing his frustration, Bobrisky lamented the treatment he has received from politicians and celebrities, particularly his experience with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), which he sees as a reflection of Nigeria’s intolerance toward individuals who challenge societal norms. Declaring his decision to permanently leave Nigeria, he stated that he would only return for brief visits. He argued that the country’s rigid legal framework prevents him from living his truth, contrasting it with the acceptance he has found abroad. “The time is coming when I will list seven celebrities I have dated. The time is coming when I will expose fake people in that country. They are so fake! “I never knew I was so special until last year when ministers and senators started discussing me. Imagine a whole minister leaving work to focus on Bobrisky. Am I that important? “If I lived in Nigeria for 100 years, they would never put ‘female’ on my passport or driver’s license. But here, I am respected for who I am.” Bobrisky’s statements have reignited debates on personal freedom, societal acceptance, and the influence of celebrity culture in Nigeria. Popular Nigerian crossdresser Bobrisky has conveyed heartfelt thanks to Nigerians for their warm reception while he resides abroad, likening their treatment to that of a cherished youngest child and a queen. In a recent Instagram post on Monday, Bobrisky expressed appreciation for the unexpected love and care received from Nigerians even while living overseas. He had anticipated a different experience but was pleasantly surprised by the affection shown by Nigerians. Bobrisky highlighted that Nigerians ensure he feels at home abroad, treating him with the utmost respect and affection, which he likened to being treated as the beloved youngest child. He wrote, “Big thank you to y’all treating me like a queen that I am here, i was thinking here was gonna be different, but honestly, y’all even treated me better here. I love y’all.” He also remarked on the contrast in societal attitudes abroad, where personal wealth doesn’t influence interpersonal relationships as much as it does in Nigeria. Despite this, Bobrisky emphasized that Nigerians abroad continue to make him feel cherished and valued. Related Posts Uriel was evicted, not Adekunle or Doyin. Controversial figure Bobrisky has shared his thoughts on the ongoing divorce between musician 2Face Idibia and his estranged wife, Annie Idibia. The veteran artist recently revealed his decision to end his twelve-year marriage to Annie, sparking widespread discussion across social media platforms. In light of this, Bobrisky took to Instagram to offer his perspective on the situation. He acknowledged that 2Face had made some significant mistakes but clarified that he wasn’t fully aware of the couple’s private struggles. Nigerian socialite Bobrisky has taken a swipe at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), labeling them as the “most wicked set of people in Nigeria.” The controversial celebrity made the remarks while reacting to the Commission’s plea for empathy after one of its officials was killed during a raid in Anambra State. In a series of posts shared on his Instagram stories, Bobrisky accused the EFCC of hypocrisy, stating, “I just don’t like reading anything about EFCC online because I feel like throwing up each time I read about them. You are asking the public to be human about the loss of one of your staff, but you are the most wicked people in Nigeria.” Bobrisky also recounted his personal experience with the EFCC, recalling how he was detained and his home was searched following allegations of money laundering. He wrote, “When I was in your custody, you took me to my house and searched it. When I asked why, you claimed I was into money laundering and wanted to check if I was printing money in my house. Nigerian socialite Bobrisky, who is currently abroad, shared his thoughts on ways married women can improve their relationships with their spouses. In a video message as shared by japhman, Bobrisky emphasized the importance of open communication and trust in a marriage. He pointed out that many marriages fail because women are not willing to let their husbands “explore” their desires. He encouraged women to engage in conversations with their partners about any crushes or attractions they might have, suggesting that being open to exploring such feelings together could strengthen their bond. Bobrisky also proposed that couples consider trying a threesome, provided all parties involved are in agreement. He believes this approach could reduce the likelihood of infidelity and foster a deeper connection between partners.
