A Nigerian lady recently took to social media to share a bizarre but amusing dream she had, where popular singer Adekunle Gold served her rice and pepper soup while also giving her skincare advice. Posting her experience on X (formerly Twitter), she joked that she might be suffering from “period-induced insanity” after the unusual dream during her nap. She wrote: “I might be experiencing period-induced insanity. Today during my nap, I dreamt about Adekunle Gold😭🤚🏾. Nigerian artist Adekunle Gold, also known as AG Baby, is set to co-produce a groundbreaking documentary titled The Odyssey, which celebrates the rich history and global influence of Yoruba music. The film will trace the journey of Yoruba music over the last century, from its roots in the 1930s to its current worldwide appeal through genres like Afrobeats. Produced by White House Productions, the documentary promises to dive deep into the evolution of Yoruba music, highlighting the roles of key figures, cultural moments, and traditional genres such as Sakara, Apala, Ajiwere, Fuji, Juju, Highlife, and Afrobeats. In a statement released on Wednesday, January 22, the production team revealed that The Odyssey will feature interviews with prominent Yoruba artists, band members, promoters, and cultural influencers. The documentary also aims to explore the influence of religion, particularly Christianity and Islam, on Yoruba music over the years. “The documentary will organize Yoruba music’s chronological history into pre- and post-colonial eras, presenting its evolution through captivating stories and perspectives,” the statement reads. “It will provide an artistic and entertaining narrative that resonates with local and global audiences while honoring the cultural significance of Yoruba music.” With Bobo Omotayo as the executive producer and direction by Abba T.
