Tension As A Man Slump And Passes Away At The Side Of The Road.
Unidentified man collapsed and perished on the side of the road in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Tuesday’s incident occurred in the Rumuigbo Junction area of the state’s Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.
Residents who have witnessed the deplorable development have expressed regret and concern.
The unidentified man in his early sixties was reportedly strolling along the roadside before falling onto the sidewalk.
A source identified only as Grace stated that when the man collapsed, he struggled to stand without assistance for some time.
Grace remarked that bystanders who had congregated around the man were only taking photographs and not attempting to help.
She stated, “This afternoon, the man was walking along the side of the road, and he later tumbled down.” Several individuals gathered around him. He attempted to stand but was unable to until he died.
No body knew him. People feared touching him because if authorities arrived, they could arrest them for questioning. Thus, nobody desired a problem. There, the man perished.”
When contacted, Grace Iringe-Koko, a Superintendent of Police and spokesperson for the state police command, stated that police are aware of the incident and have ordered an investigation into the fatality.
