Suspended Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, was seen in public for the first time on Sunday since President Bola Tinubu declared a state of emergency in the state.
Fubara, his deputy, Professor Ngozi Odu, and members of the State House of Assembly were suspended by President Tinubu in a nationwide broadcast last Tuesday.
The governor was also spotted at the global headquarters of Salvation Ministries in Port Harcourt, where he participated in the Sunday service. He arrived around 10 a.m. in a six-car motorcade led by his Chief of Staff, Rt. Hon. Edison Ehie, and a contingent of security assistants.
Speculation on Fubara’s location had emerged, including some reports that he had relocated to the Government House in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. That was, however, debunked by his Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi, who assured that the governor is “safe and doing well.”
