Students Protest Security Lapses After Abduction of Four JOSTUM Students

Students of Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University Makurdi (JOSTUM) in Benue State have expressed outrage over alleged negligence by university management and security agencies following the abduction of four female students by gunmen on Tuesday night.

The victims were kidnapped between 8PM and 9 PM from the North Core Hostels within the university premises, leaving the campus community in shock and fear. In response, many students have begun leaving the school, fearing further attacks.

The student union has blamed the incident on poor security, particularly the lack of perimeter fencing, which they say has made the campus vulnerable to external threats.

Amid mounting concerns, students are demanding immediate action from the university and security agencies to enhance safety measures and prevent future attacks.
