“Show Us Impact, Not Clout” — Lege Blasted By Verydarkman Over Seyi Tinubu Video

Social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, better known as Verydarkman (VDM), has berated Nollywood actor Adams Kehinde, better known as Lege, over a video he recently shared on the internet.

In the video, Lege proudly showed his attendance at an event with Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He also pointed out a section where he went on stage to give a speech, acknowledging that he had difficulties with English but doing it anyway.

Reacting to the video, VDM criticized Lege for always displaying his association with Seyi Tinubu without proving any practical impact. For him, such displays of acquaintanceship with power are no longer inspiring and are worthless to the people.

“If you truly have access to Seyi Tinubu,” VDM said, “let’s see videos where you’re debating with industrialists, thinkers, and experts on how to move Nigeria to the next level — not dancing around or giving awkward speeches.”

He argued that knowing influential people like Seyi Tinubu can open doors, but it is useless if there will be no visible result by the time President Tinubu is vacating office. VDM urged Lege to stop seeking online validation with irrelevant content but instead focus on using his platform to drive positive change, especially among Nigerian youths.

Rather surprisingly, in the middle of lambasting Lege, VDM commended Seyi Tinubu for being physically and actively involved in the nation-building and applauded him for speaking up when he needs to. The divide between Lege and VDM seems to be an aftermath of an earlier misunderstanding.

VDM had sometime in the past made a remark that the presidency consulted him on youth-related issues, which didn’t sit well with Lege. The actor, who is ever quick to associate himself with Seyi Tinubu, went public to warn VDM from linking himself with the presidency.
