Afrobeat star Seun Kuti has made a bold statement, declaring that he would walk out of heaven if he ever saw a Nigerian politician there. Speaking during an Instagram Live session, Kuti expressed disbelief that corrupt politicians still aspire to make it to paradise.
He questioned how individuals who contribute to the country’s suffering could believe they deserve a place in heaven.
“Despite how corrupt Nigerian politicians are, they still want to make heaven. Yemi Osinbajo is even a pastor,” Kuti said.
“With everything happening in this country, these politicians still think they will go to heaven?”
The singer went further, stating that if he ever found himself in the afterlife and saw a Nigerian politician there, it would mean heaven was no different from the corrupt system on Earth.
“If I die and this Christian and Muslim fantasy heaven is real, and I see one single Nigerian politician there, I will leave. Because that would mean there’s corruption in heaven,” he added.
