SENATE ROCKED BY SCANDAL: SENATOR AKPOTI-UDUAGHAN ACCUSES SENATE PRESIDENT AKPABIO OF SEXUAL HARASSMENT

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan (PDP, Kogi Central) has publicly accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio of sexual harassment, dramatically escalating their already contentious relationship. The female lawmaker made these explosive allegations during a frank interview with ARISE TV on Friday, where she claimed to possess evidence supporting her accusations.

According to Akpoti-Uduaghan, her husband witnessed the alleged inappropriate behavior.

“Akpabio made sexual advances toward me in the presence of my husband,” she stated firmly during the interview.

“A day before he apologized concerning the ‘night club incident,’ Senator Bamidele called me in the night with my husband present. Senator Akpabio called me few minutes later to tell me what the Dein of Agbor said to him.”

These serious allegations emerge amid heightened tensions following a controversial incident where Akpoti-Uduaghan’s Senate seat was relocated without authorization, triggering a heated exchange with the Senate President on the chamber floor. The Senate has responded by referring the matter to its Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions, chaired by Senator Neda Imaseun (LP, Edo South).

The committee has been given a two-week deadline to investigate and present its findings. Not content with the internal Senate process, Akpoti-Uduaghan has escalated matters further by filing a fundamental human rights lawsuit against Akpabio, seeking damages of N100.3 billion.
