Renowned Portuguese coach, Jose Mourinho, could be making a comeback to the coaching scene next season, with Saudi Pro League heavyweights Al-Ittihad expressing interest in his appointment. The potential move could see Mourinho reunite with Karim Benzema in Saudi Arabia. Mourinho, who has previously managed top clubs like Real Madrid, Manchester United, and Chelsea, has been unattached since leaving AS Roma in January.
Journalist Bruno Andrade reports that Al-Ittihad, the champions of the 2022/23 Saudi league, have also considered former Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri, who was let go by the Serie A club after leading them to a Coppa Italia victory against Atalanta. Mourinho’s name is also circulating in the Turkish Super Lig, with both Fenerbahce and Besiktas showing interest in the esteemed coach.
As the 2024/25 season approaches, several elite European clubs, including Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Manchester United, and Chelsea, could be in the market for a new manager. It remains to be seen where Mourinho, a seasoned strategist, will land.
