Security operatives, in collaboration with local hunters, have neutralized two suspected armed bandits in the Dajin-Madan Forest, located in Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State. Acting on credible intelligence and established community networks, the security team encountered the armed criminals during a surveillance operation in the forest.
Confirming the incident on Wednesday morning, the spokesperson of the Bauchi State Police Command, CSP Ahmed Wakil, stated that the bandits were killed in a proactive engagement, while other assailants sustained injuries and fled into the surrounding bushes. During the encounter, security operatives recovered an AK-49 rifle and nine rounds of live ammunition from the criminals.
“This operation underscores the commitment of our security forces and community partners in combating banditry and enhancing public safety. The Nigeria Police Force remains resolute in collaborating with local stakeholders to protect lives and property while ensuring that criminals are brought to justice,” Wakil stated.
He further assured that security forces, along with their community collaborators, would continue to intensify efforts to maintain peace and stability in the region, fostering a secure environment for residents.
