The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of three suspects connected to the assault and molestation of a young woman employed as a salesgirl at Don Maserati Classic Boutique on Lagos Island. The victim was accused of theft, leading to her brutal treatment by a group of men.

CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Police Public Relations Officer, revealed the arrests via his official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Monday. He stated, “Three suspects have been arrested, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend others involved and establish contact with the victim.”

The Commissioner of Police, CP Olanrewaju Ishola, reassured the public of justice, promising that all culprits would face the law.

The arrests followed widespread outrage over a viral video showing the victim being flogged and molested, reportedly on the orders of the boutique owner, who accused her of theft. The video triggered condemnation from the public, with many demanding the immediate prosecution of those responsible for the inhumane act. Investigations are ongoing to bring all parties involved to justice and provide support to the victim.
