Operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command have arrested Usman Abubakar, a suspected member of the notorious ‘Shila’ gang, for robbery and assault in Mubi North Local Government Area. According to the Commissioner of Police, CP Danwambo Morris, the suspect, a resident of Shuware Ward, was apprehended following a complaint by Hadiza Atiku of Wuro Harde Ward. Atiku reported that Abubakar physically attacked her and forcefully stole her Infinix WOD 9 handset while armed with scissors.
The police revealed that during the attack, the suspect stabbed the victim in the face, causing grievous injuries. Acting swiftly on the complaint, officers from the Mubi North Divisional Police Headquarters tracked and arrested Abubakar, recovering the stolen phone, a tricycle, and a pair of scissors from him.
The CP confirmed that the suspect remains in custody, assisting with investigations, and will be charged to court upon the conclusion of inquiries.
