Peter Obi

Former Nigerian presidential candidate Peter Obi attended the London book launch of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s latest novel, Dream Count, marking her return to publishing after a 10-year hiatus. Sharing moments from the event, Obi revealed that he traveled to the UK via Air Peace business class, as per his policy for long-haul flights when immediate engagements await.

Before the book launch, Obi visited Cambridge for discussions with development experts, focusing on solutions to Nigeria’s pressing challenges. Later, he joined an audience of about 3,000 people at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall, where Chimamanda engaged in a thought-provoking conversation with journalist Elizabeth Day.

Obi described the event as not just a celebration of literary excellence but also a reminder of Nigeria’s immense potential if investments are made in education, healthcare, and poverty alleviation.

Reflecting on his earlier discussions and Chimamanda’s inspiring performance, he expressed confidence in Nigeria’s future, emphasizing that with youth energy, collective commitment, and good governance, a better Nigeria is achievable.

“A new Nigeria is POssible,” he concluded.
