Prominent TikTok content creator Habeeb Hamzat, commonly referred to as Peller, lost a massive chunk of his followers both on Instagram and TikTok after issuing some offensive remarks about the popular 30-day rant challenge.

Report from gistreel says that Peller condemned Nigerians undertaking the challenge, insisting that the trend might provoke the government into banning TikTok from Nigeria.

The TikTok star, who gained popularity through his live streams on the platform, urged users to express their rage on Instagram or in market places but not TikTok.

“If you want to rant, rant on Instagram or the market, not TikTok. If TikTok is blocked, that would be a big problem,” he said in the viral clip. Once he made the assertion, Peller lost a large number of followers on Instagram and on TikTok, indicating sharp backlash from his fans. He also faced sharp backlashes on social media from critics who ridiculed him for trying to polarize the voice of the youths against bad governance.
