Governor Seyi Makinde

The Oyo State Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP) has inaugurated a Grievance Redress Committee (GRC) to manage potential disputes arising from rural road construction projects across the state. Speaking at the inauguration, the Director-General of the Oyo State Agribusiness Development Agency (OYSADA), Dr. Debo Akande, emphasized the importance of adhering to the committee’s terms of reference to ensure smooth project execution. He highlighted that the engagement aimed to foster stakeholder collaboration, ensuring public support for maintaining rural roads.

Akande noted that the GRC would play a vital role in fostering cooperation between contractors and beneficiary communities, a key requirement of the RAAMP initiative. He also urged stakeholders to facilitate a seamless construction process and commended Governor Seyi Makinde for his commitment to transforming rural infrastructure and boosting the agro-economy.

RAAMP Coordinator, Engr. Adeola Ekundayo, reiterated that the committee’s primary duty is to address grievances from affected communities, particularly farmers whose lands may be impacted. He urged the fair resolution of complaints and encouraged contractors to employ local workers to support the economy.

Oluyole Local Government Chairman, Akeem Olatunji, assured that adequate security measures would be in place during and after the project. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fostering development in the council area.
