Outrage Erupts as Naira Marley Takes Jab at Late Mohbad in New Zinoleesky Song

Controversial singer Naira Marley is facing a fresh wave of backlash following the release of a new song by Zinoleesky, where Marley makes an insensitive remark about his late ex-signee, Mohbad.

Recently, the one-year remembrance of Mohbad’s tragic death was marked, though the investigation into the circumstances surrounding his passing remains inconclusive.

In the newly released track titled “Abanikanda”, which features Naira Marley, the Marlian Records boss made a statement that many critics found deeply offensive. The singer, who was once a suspect in the case of Mohbad’s death, appeared to suggest in a line that the late artist was an ‘opposition’ or ‘enemy’ who should remain in the casket.

The lyric, “Leave that opp boy inna casket,” has since sparked widespread outrage among Mohbad’s fans, who have condemned Marley for his perceived insensitivity and for continuing to bully his former signee even after his death.

One X user, @Veekaysss, reacted angrily to the lyric, saying, “This is enough evidence to declare them Killers of Mohbad, but this is Nigeria💔.”

Another user, @topetyez_, expressed disappointment, stating, “He didn’t have to say that line at all tbh very unnecessary.”
