Ogun State Government Condemns Singer Portable for Attacking Officials

Portable

The Ogun State government has strongly condemned Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, for assaulting its officials, describing him as an “unrepentant rascal” and a “serial dissident.” Kayode Akinmade, Special Adviser to Governor Dapo Abiodun on Information and Strategy, issued a statement on Friday, criticizing Portable’s repeated attacks on government officials without provocation.

Akinmade called the latest incident “unacceptable and barbaric,” stating that the state will address such behavior in line with the law.

“We are profoundly taken aback by the unpleasant and uncivil act of the Hip-hop artiste, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable on Wednesday, in Iyana-Ilogbo area of the state where his bar is located,” Akinmade said.

He added that Governor Dapo Abiodun strongly condemns the act and emphasized that anyone flouting the law will face consequences, regardless of their social status or influence.

Recall that nine of Portable’s proteges were arraigned on Thursday before a Magistrates’ Court in Isabo, Abeokuta, for allegedly assaulting officers of the Ota Zonal Planning office of the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development.
