The Ogun State Police Command has declared popular singer Habeeb Okikiola Olalomi, better known as “Portable,” wanted for allegedly leading a violent attack on government officials carrying out their duties. According to a statement by the police spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola, the incident occurred on February 5, 2025, around 10:00 AM.
Officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Ota Zonal Office, were on an enforcement operation in Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu Ota, when they approached an elderly man—later identified as Portable’s father—at a location called Odogwu Bar. The officials, including TPL Onabanjo Abidemi, TPL Raymond Lateef, and TPL Ridwan Oyero Akinlesi, identified themselves and requested the approved building plan for the property in question.
Portable’s father informed them that his son was unavailable at the time. Moments later, Portable allegedly arrived at the scene, armed with a firearm and other dangerous weapons, leading a gang of nine thugs in a violent assault on the officials. The unarmed enforcement officers sustained injuries but managed to escape and reported the incident to the Ota Area Command.
The case was later transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further action. Following the attack, police arrested nine of Portable’s alleged accomplices, but the singer himself fled and has since gone into hiding. Multiple invitations were sent to him, requesting his presence at the Ogun State Police Command Headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta, but he reportedly ignored them without offering any explanation or sending legal representation.
After repeated attempts to reach him failed, the police obtained a valid court order officially declaring him wanted. The police are now urging the public to assist in locating Portable, warning that anyone caught aiding or harboring him will face legal consequences.
“For any relevant information, kindly report to the nearest police station or contact the Ogun State Police Command through its official communication channels or the police public relations department,” Odutola stated.
