Nigerian actress Sunday NBS, Nkechi Blessing, has discussed the issues she has been encountering since her previous online drama, that she has missed a number of brand endorsement deals. Renowned for her sharp tongue and social media gaffes, Nkechi admitted in a tearful video on Instagram that previous actions have caught up with her.
Brands and individuals, she says, want to work with her initially but withdraw after seeking advice from third parties. Nkechi disclosed that most of her online scandals were a result of defending herself instead of initiating fights. She explained how her previous relationships, especially one that was very publicized, tarnished her image.
She asserted that even though she had moved on in private, the other side brought the matter to the public domain, and she had to react to defend herself. Now she regrets how things ended, since others still refer to her as “controversial” even when she has made a conscious change in her approach.
“I meet someone who likes me and wants to help me, not sexually, but really, really, but when they ask about, they get, ‘Ah!
Run from her o, she will pull you online.’ Why? I know that I brought it about, but it was not intentional.”
She was dissatisfied that even after her attempt to change over the past two years, the negative perception still follows her, affecting her work and business life. Nkechi pleaded with people to give her a chance and not be judging her based on past mistakes.
She claimed that if people could meet her in person, they would know that she is a diligent and friendly individual.
“I can’t stand it anymore. I know I have made all of you see me this way, but I am not that way.
Allow me to be friends and conduct business with other people in peace. Let them find me themselves.”
She apologized to others as well who considered her a troublemaker, imploring them to leave prospective partners alone and let them decide for themselves.
“This is my sincere apology to everyone who has seen me as an idiot or a pest. If someone wants to collaborate with me, please request them to get to know me in real life. I am an extremely nice person to work with.'”
Nkechi’s emotional plea brought on varied reactions on social media:
