Nigerians Expose Nursing School Provost Behind Notorious Query Over First Lady Incident

Face and picture of the Agbor, Delta State-nursing school provost have been exposed following a query letter she issued to a student for refusing to call First Lady Remi Tinubu “mother” during a visit.

The drama began when a video circulated on X (formerly Twitter) in which students of the nursing school were declining a chant for the First Lady.

In the video, a man began the chant by uttering, “Remi Tinubu, na our mama be this oo.”

But instead of doing the same, the students responded defiantly with, “Na your mama be this oo.”

Following the incident, the school authorities instituted an investigation, and the student who put the video on the internet was identified and served with a query letter.

The disciplinary measure, however, took a wrong turn when the letter became viral on the internet, and individuals criticized the act of the provost, and there was immediate interference by the Delta State Commissioner for Health, who instructed that the query be withdrawn.

Nigerians learned within hours the name and photo of the provost said to have been responsible for the act. A user by the handle @Balatic shared them on X with a sarcastic caption:

If you get this good provost, Evbodaghe Rita Ogonne, tell her Nigerians are preparing to drench her with huge love for defending their embarrassed First Lady.

She will soon feel the huge love of Nigerians for being a selfless provost. She has no clue what is in store for her.

The post raked up a deluge of comments on social media:

@Frankeelodeo: “What official information did she leak oh? ‘Na your mama be that oh’ don’t convert to official confidential information?”

@ehimaggie: “This is trash! Hope this person gets help and the provost gets what she’s asking for!”

@EboStanley: “If you have the Provost’s phone number, please share it… Let’s call her.”

@AdaNri1L: “No wonder Nigerian nurses are insensitive! The entire Nigerian Nursing body needs a makeover.”

@Tobizz114530: “At times I ask myself why God can’t simply take these evil spirits out of office and leave the planet to us.”
