Nigeria Police Force Recovers Stolen Arms, Reaffirms Commitment to National Security

In a recent operation, the Nigeria Police Force successfully retrieved 10 police rifles that had been stolen during a tragic ambush in Ohoro Forest, near Ughelli, Delta State. The ambush resulted in the unfortunate loss of 13 officers.

The recovery was made possible by the Force Intelligence Department Intelligence Response Team (FID-IRT), which engaged the suspects in a gunfight, neutralising some in the process. This operation was a response to the incident in Ohoro Forest where police officers were brutally attacked, leading to the loss of 13 police rifles.

The Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the recovery in a recent statement. He also disclosed that the police managed to recover additional arms used by the assailants.

ACP Adejobi further relayed a message from the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun. The IGP reaffirmed the police’s commitment to minimising crime through effective intelligence gathering and sharing for operational deployments.

IGP Egbetokun reassured the public of the police’s continued efforts to combat criminal activities nationwide. He emphasised that the safety and security of Nigerian citizens remain the top priority. The operation, he said, marks a significant milestone in ongoing efforts to combat crime and restore security not just in Delta State, but across the nation.
