Almost a day in office as Customs Area Controller of the Apapa Port Command, Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba has set a new record in revenue collection with the Command collecting ₦20,156,077,098.56 on Tuesday, September 9, 2025
The haul, under the Unified Customs Management System (B’Odogwu), surpasses yesterday’s record of ₦18 billion, indicating Oshoba’s resolve not just to keep but even exceed the records of achievement that were made in the period under his predecessor, ACG Babatunde Olomu.
At his maiden meeting with senior officers, Comptroller Oshoba acknowledged their past achievements but challenged them to upgrade their level of productivity. He reminded them that words do not measure dedication and hard work but outcomes.
Talking on record-breaking performance, he stated
“This ₦20.1bn feat is just the beginning. It’s not yet time to clap, because clapping is having your two hands out of commission. Greater victories lie ahead as we focus on beating targets, stifling smuggling, and streamlining trade without compromising integrity.”
Oshoba also said that B’Odogwu played a key role in revolutionizing Nigeria’s customs operations and raising Nigeria’s trade status as the greatest economy in Africa.
He urged officers to maintain the momentum while he asked stakeholders to maintain strict compliance in their operations.
“We are writing history. Our individual, collective efforts are positively impacting the Nigerian economy. Let us keep the good work going,” he added.
