Renowned gospel artist Mercy Chinwo and her husband, Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa, brought smiles to the Rumudara community in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, with a remarkable act of kindness during the festive season. On December 30, 2024, the couple, through their Mercy Is Blessed Foundation, extended a hand of support to disadvantaged residents, including the elderly, single mothers, and other vulnerable individuals.
They distributed essential items such as bags of rice, garri, cartons of tomato paste, yams, clothing, and cash gifts to brighten the lives of the less privileged. The outreach initiative is part of the Mercy Is Blessed Foundation, which serves as the charity arm of Mercy Chinwo’s Grace and Truth Nation (GNT) Music Label.
Speaking on the act of generosity, Pastor Blessed highlighted the biblical principle of love through giving, referencing John 3:16:
“The central goal of Christ is love, and He is the reason for the season. Giving is the DNA of love.”
He further explained that the foundation’s mission goes beyond providing immediate relief, aiming instead to empower beneficiaries with sustainable opportunities for a better future.
“Love is about giving, and that is why the Mercy Is Blessed Foundation has made it a priority to share the love of Jesus Christ with people who don’t know where their next meal will come from.
The goal is not just giving them food items but equipping them to build sustainable livelihoods,” Pastor Blessed added.
