China has been a top trending topic on Nigerian social media, following the visit of social media personality Martins Otse, alias Verydarkman (VDM), to China. VDM recently shared a viral video in which he praised China’s technological advancement and strong economy and urged Nigeria to follow the development trajectory.
His message, directed at President Bola Tinubu’s son, Seyi, has drawn extensive online commentary. Apart from VDM, another Nigerian star currently enjoying themselves in China is May Edochie, who is an actress and estranged wife of Yul Edochie.
On the 25th of February, May tweeted about a glimpse into her holiday, posting a video from a China luxury hotel gym. While her holiday rages on, she recently posted another beautiful view overlooking her Guangzhou hotel, further fueling discourse from her followers.

The critic posted a video of himself riding in a self-driving bus in China while urging the Nigerian government to follow the example of that Asian nation.
According to VDM, China is already in the future.
