French Ligue 1 club Olympique Marseille is keen on securing a loan deal for Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho from Spanish side Sevilla for the remainder of the season. Sevilla has shown willingness to allow the former Manchester City and Leicester City striker to leave this month after his underwhelming performance since arriving on a free transfer last summer.
Adding to the transfer dynamics, Sevilla recently acquired his compatriot Jerome Akor Adams from Montpellier, further influencing Iheanacho’s potential departure. Reports from France suggest that Marseille has initiated talks with both Sevilla and the player himself. Iheanacho, 28, is reportedly inclined towards a move to Marseille amid several offers currently on the table.
A decision on his future is expected before the closure of the winter transfer window.
