Man Gets 14-Year Jail Term for Assaulting Two Children in Abia State

A 27-year-old man will spend the next 14 years behind bars after being found guilty of sexually assaulting two minors in Umuahia, Abia State.

Chukwunyere Okechukwu Akomas was sentenced on Friday by a mobile court for crimes against two children, aged 8 and 11.

The court handed down a 14-year prison term for each offense, with the sentences to be served concurrently.

The conviction was confirmed by the Abia State chapter coordinator of Behind Bar Foundation, a human rights organization, who announced the sentencing on Friday night.
