Lynn Ban, the celebrated jewelry designer and star of Netflix’s Bling Empire: New York, has tragically passed away following a skiing accident. She was 50 years old. Her son, Sebastian, confirmed the heartbreaking news on Instagram on Wednesday, January 22, revealing that his mother died on Monday, January 20, after sustaining injuries in a skiing accident and undergoing brain surgery.
“I know she wanted to share her journey after her accident and brain surgery, so I thought she would appreciate one last post sharing the news to people who supported her,” Sebastian wrote alongside a heartfelt slideshow of moments with his mother.
Describing her as his “best friend” and “the best mother,” Sebastian praised her resilience and strength, saying, “She always had a smile on her face even during tough times.
She was a fighter until the end and is the strongest woman I know.”
Lynn Ban’s accident occurred on Christmas Eve while skiing in Aspen. Following a CAT scan, doctors discovered a brain bleed, and she was airlifted to a trauma hospital. In a December 30, 2024, post, Ban had shared photos from the hospital, detailing her experience and recovery process after undergoing an emergency craniotomy.
Ban was the founder of Lynn Ban Jewelry, a luxury brand favored by global celebrities, including Rihanna, who expressed her condolences on Sebastian’s Instagram post. In 2023, Ban rose to fame as part of Bling Empire: New York, a spinoff of Netflix’s hit reality series Bling Empire. Known for her vibrant personality and dazzling designs, she quickly became a fan favorite.
Sebastian vowed to honor his mother’s legacy, writing, “While she is no longer here, I will do everything to make sure her life is celebrated and she is never forgotten.”
He ended his tribute with a personal message: “I will miss you forever… I love you more than life itself, Mum.”
